Will the Man from Texas Please Stand Up?
We, of course, mean the woodworker, the master craftsman, the furnituremaker tucked into the tiny town of Wimberley, Texas, who, with his crew of fine craftsmen, turns out handmade chairs that are literally sculpted to fit your body.

Meet Gary Weeks.  "Furniture suits me.  My love is working wood into objects of beauty and utility."

A Chair is Not Always a Chair
Designed to fit the human body, a Weeks’ chair has the shape and surface of living things.  Using traditional methods of mortise and tenon, the craftsmen work fine hardwoods of cherry, walnut, maple, mahogany, and mesquite into complex, often non-rectilinear forms.

The eye guides the hand to produce complicated joints, flowing transitions, and sculpted surfaces.  Consider, for example, the arm of a rocker.  The arm is deeply mortised into the back leg.  The intersection is shaped into a movement evoking a limb growing from a tree.  The front leg is mortised through the arm and is wedged like an ax handle.  The chair arm is contoured to cradle the human arm and sanded and polished to a caress.

A Signature Piece - The Weeks Rocker™
What makes this rocker so unique is its remarkable ability to please almost everyone who sits in it.  The rocker construction takes 178 separate steps.  Each requires uncommon skill and devotion to craft.  These rockers are created to last for generations developing a history of their own.  They are available in cherry, maple, walnut, or mesquite.

The Weeks Rocker™ for the Porch.
Redesigned (without compromising comfort) and finished for covered outdoor spaces, this rocker is made of mahogany.

Sit in a Dining Room Chair all Evening?  Comfortably?

The answer - the Wilson Chairs.  You simply won't believe how comfortable a dining room chair can be.

Taking Care of Our Environment

As members of the design community, we have the power to build legacy in every specification we write regarding wood products. By designing-in products originating in well-managed forests (that is, forests certified as well-managed in compliance with the principles and criteria of the Forest Stewardship Council), we offer the forest products value chain the opportunity to profit from improved management practices. In our choice of products and construction techniques, we promote appropriate utilization of the forest resource.
