This is an exquisitely designed and crafted rocking chair built, from FSC-certified Kane Hardwood black cherry. All rocker parts are carefully selected for strength and the display of distinctive figure when cut, shaped, and sculpted. The seat boards (always seven from the same larger board) are doweled and glued. The rockers are also laminated from bookmatched 1/4" strips for strength. The arm, legs, and rockers are joined by mortise and tenon.

“I know this doesn’t sound possible,” said Weeks, “But 98% of the people, 5' tall to 6'4" tall, who try this rocker tell me that it fits them perfectly.”

The rocker can be shipped safely anywhere in the world.

This handcrafted bench entitled “Robin’s Perch” is built from FSC-certified black cherry CollinsWood®. “When I designed the bench I was thinking of simplicity of lines, ease of construction, plus making it useful in a variety of settings. The tapered seat is really comfortable and the leg design is curved out slightly to give it a softer look.”

“A Tower of Shelves for a Child's Room” is built entirely from scrap material pulled randomly from FSC-certified pine at the Collins Pine Company Sawmill in Chester, California. “I wanted to demonstrate three concepts with my entry. One, that thoughtful design could add considerable value to a very low value material. Two, that certified wood producers could use waste material for high value wood products. And three, that you can augment the goal of promoting forest ecosystem health by using the whole tree.”
